The 17th Annual Hilton Head Island Bridge Run will be held on Saturday, November 8th., 2007 at 8:00am. The 10K Road Race, 5K Fun Run & Health Walk will start and finish at Crossing's Park and take participants over the Cross Island Expressway. The 10K Road Race will feature all standard race divisions. The 5K run will feature limited divisions. All participants will receive a colorful Bridge Run T-shirt. An award ceremony featuring refreshments, live music, and door prizes will be held following the race. Friday night prior to the Bridge Run, The Mall at Shelter Cove will host Late Registration and Race Packet Pick-Up.

Since 1992, the Hilton Head Bridge Run has hosted over 8,500 runners and walkers and has raised more than $ 22,800 for the area charities. The Lowcountry tradition continues in 2008 when more than 500 men, women, and children will challenge themselves and the elements during the 17th Annual Hilton Head Island Bridge Run.

Additional upcoming events include the Hilton Head Island Jingle Bell Run on Saturday, December 20 and the New Years Day 5K on January 1st, 2009.

* Friday Nov. 7th at the Mall at Shelter Cove, Hwy. 278 Friday, , 5pm-8:00pm Packets cannot be mailed, you must pick-up

THE RACE
Each mile will be clearly marked with split times Water will be available at each mile Hilton Head Regional Medical Center first aid station will be available at start/finish area. T-shirts Colorful 100% cotton shirts guaranteed to all participants

THE BRIDGE
One Bridge and Overpass, over 1 mile span, out & back

10K COURSE
The Hilton Head Island Bridge Run will start and finish at Crossings Park at 8:00am. The course is out and back, first mile two miles are flat, then over bridge and overpass for one mile then about 1 mile flat, turn around and come back.

5K COUSE
The 5K will also start and finish at Crossings Park at 8:00am. The course is out and back, first 2 miles are flat, then half way up bridge turn around and come back.

PARKING
Free parking is available at Crossings Park

10K & 5K Run
Starting line Runners will start at 8:00am 5K Health Walk Start/Finish Walkers will start shortly after runners Walkers will not be officially timed Walkers will have 1 hour to complete walk

10K RUN DIVISIONS
Male & Female 13 & Under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & over.
